My learning journey at De'valence Design
Welcome to my personal learning journey. Here, I share my experiences, projects, and insights from my BA (Hons) Interior Design online course. Discover what I've accomplished, what I'm currently working on, and how I navigate the exciting world of interior design education.
First module:
The brief was to design a vegan restaurant in a small corner of the larger restaurant space on campus. My goal was to make this space as accessible as possible for everyone, especially neurodivergent people.
An eco-friendly, nature-inspired design that encourages student collaboration and creativity; a multifunctional area providing space to relax, socialise, and recharge – encouraging diversity & harnessing the healing power of nature to promote health and wellness.
This was a really fun module to begin the course with, and I learned a lot. I was really pleased with the grade I received, 2:1.
Second module:
This brief was to design a luxury, sustainable, ethical hotel within 50 miles of where I lived, using environmentally friendly and ethical practices and materials. The Coleton was designed for individuals and couples to disconnect from technology and fully immerse themselves in nature. Hands-on therapeutic crafts and activities, combined with the removal of any digital devices, aid in the revival, relaxation, and reset of the mind and soul. The Coleton, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, was a fantastic project to work on, despite being a massive undertaking. I was overjoyed to have achieved a first for this module.
